Company of the Future

Benefits

Recoverable Commodities
ZWE is intent on maximizing the recovery of materials and ensuring that they are moved to their highest and best use. As a comprehensive solutions provider, we design systems which are capable of significant recovery of commodities that would normally end up in a landfill, including the recovery of materials from municipal solid waste streams as the "front-end" of organic waste processing, to the complex "back-end" segregation of compost to optimize value. Our systems are designed to optimize the recovery of valuable materials, consequently generating greater value by increasing recoverable volumes and enhancing the quality of that material.

Biogas
The quality biogas that is produced through our Kompoferm dry AD process has multiple uses. It can be used to feed fuel cells or internal combustion engines that generate power and heat. It can also be converted to compressed natural gas ("CNG") and liquefied natural gas ("LNG") that is used to fuel transportation systems and natural gas vehicles.

Compost
Compost is composed of organic materials generally derived from plant and animal matter that has been decomposed through decomposition. Nutrient rich digestate is a by-product of our Kompoferm dry AD process. The digestate is added to existing composting systems or our In-Vessel Composting systems, allowing the operator to market a highly desirable product used in gardens, landscaping, horticulture and agriculture. The compost can be beneficial for the environment in many ways, including soil as a conditioner, fertilizer, and for the addition of humus or humic acids for soil.

In ecosystems, compost is useful for erosion control, land and stream reclamation, and wetland construction. While the process of composting is fairly simple, the quality of the product can vary widely based on the process employed. The use of the digestate produced through the Kompoferm AD system offers significant potential to upgrade the finished quality of compost to a premium product.

Renewable Energy Credits ("REC's")

A renewable energy credit (REC) is created when one megawatt-hour ("MWh") of renewable electricity is fed into the power grid. An REC represents the positive environmental benefits associated with renewable energy generation. RECs have economic value and can be bought and sold, which allows anyone in any part of the country to support green energy. Most of our projects qualify for RECs and we will assist our clients in optimizing their potential to facilitate and obtain their value.

Disposal Cost Avoidance
ZWE's Kompoferm AD technology is focused on local processing and attaining the "highest and best use" of the material being processed through alternative recovery systems. On average, our systems are able to recover up to 90% (including shrinkage from moisture reduction and screening) of the waste material processed through front-end recovery systems, energy recovery, and compost. The traditional cost of disposal is effectively transformed into the generation of biogas and a new revenue stream.

Environmental Value Proposition

With ZWE's anaerobic digestion technology, the user can attain measurable reductions in greenhouse gas ("GHG") impact, offering the potential to garner carbon credit offsets in the future. Through our associates, we can calculate environmental benchmarks and measure improvement in GHG output and carbon footprint reduction.
